Even though the defense has "committed" to playing on one runner, stuff can still happen with the other runner that needs an umpires attention. When this situation happens in my game, I will yell at my partner - "I've got this runner, you stay with the other one(s)!"

I agree with that mechanic...and shouldn't the PU stay inside, in case they need to go home?
