Reno 911 ump attire

I show up to do 2 summer league (for HS players) week night games. These games are for ladies who did not play last season or who want to continue to work on their skills. I show up to work the late games of 8:00 & 9:30, and (I hate to admit it) one of our +15 year veterans, is in light blue silky shorts, a brown belt for his ball bag, and a white handle/blue bristel Rubbermaid "plate" brush. He has on his HS powder blue shirt that FP softball requires. This guy looks like a baffoon, and will probably be on a future Reno 911 episode about umpires. A real gay boy appearance. Sure it was 90 degrees and humid, but if you cannot take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
He comes off the field, and I proceed to tell him that he is a discrace to all umpires, and should stay home next week if he is not going to get with the program & dress properly! No one was around when I told him my opinion. I know I should have kept my mouth shut, but what a joke he is.
Any one else ever had a similar problem?

I'm sure we all have. We had one guy who started out doing all right, but started getting lazy (or at least started showing his already-existing lazy side). He'd show up at game time in a white t-shirt, never ready to call ball.

He got the boot.

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

I worked with a female umpire last year who wore corduroy pants and wore her chest protector on the outside of her shirt.

My partner Sunday wore his chest protector under his shirt alright....in the FIELD! Never seen that!

When he went to the dish, his mechanic on a check swing was to say NOOOO, she did not go!. Then, when asked to appeal....OK, I'll ask him...."HEY BLUE, THEY WANNA KNOW WHATCHA GOT OUT THERE!"

Joe in Missouri

PS We were wearing Red, b the way.
