I informed the assignor/UIC that I would wear what I thought as neccessary to do the game. The one league that banned the HSM, I did not work for for 3 years till they changed their policy. The one association that wanted no glasses wanted everyone to wear contacts. I did not work for them for 4 years.

The one with bars/cage like the photo above, I think of as a catcher's style mask and might be an advantage for foul balls off the backstop. Now I know that the helmet-like top of head covering is called HSM, even though I don't watch enough hockey to know, and is taboo for some. Or, am I still confused? Is there any acceptable "mask" with a top of the head protector? |
