subs?

Do I have to call time when my team is on defense to pull a player and put a sub in the game or can I do it between batters(nfhs)? Is there a limit to how many times I can do this in an inning?

Thanks

Yes you need to call time.

You can do this as many time as you want in a game as long as you do not meet the definition of a charged conference.

The key part of the charge conference definition that you must avoid is that you meet with defensive personnel.

So make the change from the dugout and not as part of meeting with the defensive personnel on the field.

... and comply with the substitution rules. You need to inform the plate umpire of each substitute.

Angry

The only limiting factors would be: the number of available subs, the re-entry rule for each player(one per player) and the patience of the umpires!

Actually you would be requesting time during a live ball situation. The umpre would grant the time out.

You are only limited by the number of legal subs you have available.
