Why not? This person is your partner and most likely your only friend on the field. There is absolutely no reason for partners not to talk between half-innings.

2) When HC-V started complaining about the age of H-Pitcher, you should have instructed him to see the Tournament Director. Player age eligiblilty is not the game UIC's problem.

No, but a protest made during the game is. I think he did an excellent job of trying to wrap up the issue at hand and avoid further conversation and move the game along. Unfortunately, the coaches didn't see it that way.

3) When the two head coaches started going at each other you should separated them and got the game moving. That kind of crap between coaches cannot be tolerated.

Seperate them? No way. Eject them and tell their assistant coaches to get them off the field. As an umpire, I'm not going anywhere near a heated discussion between two "alleged" adults where physical contact is a possibility even if unintentional. If an umpire wants to be put into that position, s/he should take up officiating boxing matches.
