WCWS illegal pitch

I was watching one of the WCWS games a couple of days ago. The third base umpire called an illegal pitch because the pitcher slid their foot off the back of the PP during the pitch. Their arm never came out to signal a DDB. They showed it on instant replay numerous times and the umpire was in full view the whole time. That umpire was the one explaining what the pitcher did wrong so that should have been the one who called it, right? Just wondering since you cannot get much insight from the announcers. Dave

Some violations that occur before the pitch begins are IDB. Were the arms up for dead ball, no pitch?

Nope, not by the third base up or PU either. Can't say for the first base ump, but like I said, the third base up was doing the explaining. Dave

If it was the Tennessee/Northwestern Game and called on Monica Abbott in the first inning, then it was the 1B umpire that called it. You can just see his arms going up on the play. Don't know why the 3rd base umpire would be explaining his call.

It for sure was not Monica Abbott pitching and it was called by the third base ump but no DDB signal. Dave

In this game, when John called the IP, he also explained it to Tenn's coach. I believe this post is about a different game.
