It's really very easy for us to sit here and run the video over and over and for LJ to stand back behind the backstop and watch this pitcher and her wide step.
The PU meanwhile has to concentrate on the pitch and its location. The PU better be 100% sure that the pitcher is outside the 24 inch width before making that call. Tough to do unless it is blatantly obvious. Bottom line is that judgement is judgement. If the PU did not feel that this particular pitcher was in violation, I won't question him.
