It was 12U, and I think watching the games on TV was the first time many of them had seen the very highest level of softball. They all seemed to think the series was the greatest thing ever (despite the lack of offense).

I gave the girls 12U team that I (assistant) coach for a homework assignment. I told them this after a game last week, in front of all the parents - you all have to go home and watch at least one game of WCWS this coming week, start to finish, with one of your parents. then come back and tell the group what game you watched, who the teams were, and one play you really liked and why.

Earlier this week, almost every parent said something positive about it to me on the side, and the girls loved it. Most of them watched more than one game, and had numerous plays they liked. It got their spirits up and energized them - now they're ready to play like pro's!
