Lines that are improperly drawn are called as is.
Exception: When a batted ball strikes either 1st or 3rd base, it is a fair ball, even if the part of the base that was struck might appear to be in foul territory. This is not a mutual agreement, but the ground rules which are discussed and clarified at the plate meeting. As for outfield lines not being drawn, this results in a judgement call by the plate umpire. Just as we don't "guess outs", we don't guess a ball to be foul unless we are 100% sure that it is foul. Also to be part of the ground rules discussed at the plate meeting.
