MLB and MiLB have totally screwed up their stadiums and the criteria of leaving the playing field in flight. The playing field boundary being, by rule, the perpendicular extension of the outfield fence in fair territory. The particular "bicycle rack" construction has led to numerous miss calls in a stadium in my neck of the woods. News video showed the misses but stadium replay was not available. But this was not one of those. What defines the playing field boundary in that stadium?

It's either here by mistake, or the OP has no situations from National Pro Fastpitch that could be relevant. Then again, NPF is not a very well-known league.

Sorry guys. I should have named this thread, "How Would Have Handled This Identical Coach Behavior in an NCAA/NSA/Fed Softball Game?"

I guess it would've been an easy case of a verbal warning that the 60 second count has begun before the forfeit is declared.

Don't think there is much question in this case. The ball must go beyond the yellow border on the top of the "bike rack".

I only do NSA tournament ball in Indiana.
After the ejection, I would return to my spot on the field and calmly count off 60 seconds. After 60 I would inform UIC we have a forfeit.
