Whistles

No action on this forum lately so maybe this will start some discussions. Who uses a finger whistle and who uses a wrist lanyard? Anyone use anything else?

I must admit I've never seen one of those? How many fingers does it go over?

I suppose if you really squeezed, you could get two in, but I just use it around one. I've never tried one of the finger whistles. Are they any good?

I don't use either. I just carry the whistle in my hand and a backup in my shirt pocket.

normally use a wrist lanyard. still own finger ones. sometimes use no lanyard, but 2 whistles hooked together and just held in hand. i have about 15 whistles; various colors of fox 40; other styles to vary sound intensity or pitch depending on field location.

Well, I don't think I quite have 15 different whistles yet, but by far my least favorite is the Fox 40 Pearl. I have a finger lanyard with a Fox 40 original and a cheap pea whistle, and another with an Acme tornado and the other acme tornado.

I've used the finger whistle in the past and am planning to change to a wrist lanyard for this HS season. What I don't like about the fw is that I had to keep my fingers slightly spread to not feel like I was going to lose it. Also the spare whistle is quite bulky in my short's pocket.
