Thanks Bbb
Thanks for this Bob. This was the light-bulb moment for me with the rule (i.e. explained/read multiple times before and never truly got/remembered/understood it. This wording did it).

Summary
To summarize for those that think it is TL; DR
4 rules changes.
1. Players in marked lane can go in when the shot released.
2. Regarding contact on ball handler: the following acts will...

Love em
I wear these shoes and love them. They did take a little longer to break in (were tight for my slightly wide feet). The thing I love though is they feel very light. At the time I bought my first...

I am not sure she misspoke. In the NFHS survey this year, they had a question about 18 minutes halves. I was confused as to why it wasn't 16. I am not sure why they wouldn't go to 16 instead of 18,...

Thanks NevadaRef
Thanks for clarifying what I was going to ask in a follow-up question Nevadaref.
Billy and Adam - I was not aware what the rule actually read, so thanks for pointing that out. I never even...

Late to the party
I am quite obviously late to the party and will throw my $0.02 in anyway.
My gut says the NFHS won't make any major rules changes as the past couple of years have been minor tweaks because (I...

Driving my wife nuts...
It's these types of sequences that drive me nuts when watching college games (and my verbal spewage leads to my wife being driven nuts too), and also give me an appreciation of why inconsistency in...

Video Reuest - Stanford/Kansas (Video)
56 seconds left in the 2nd half. Blocking call against Kansas. Just wondering mechanics wise if the ref did point to the RA. It looked like he did, but the Kansas player was way outside of the RA...

Another one
Trail made the call and I assume he ruled it wasn't a shot (I agree with that - guy clearly threw it against the board because he needed to get out of trouble) and was a pass to himself.
9:20 or...

Thanks
Thanks for the help and guidance guys. I joined the forum to become a better official (seeing the weird situations) and have enjoyed it so far.
This would probably be a good test question. The key...

JV Ref
I guess that's why I am a JV ref then. :)
If A1 is passing to A2, and B1 fouls A2 before she touches the ball, wouldn't the act of touching the ball by A2 cause it to become dead? Or are you...

My $0.02
UC was on the fast break. It was around 5 minutes left to go and Brianna Stewart was the one the deflected the pass towards the basket.
I was also confused because at first, the non-calling ref...

Ct = nfhs
BillyMac - only state finals and on last second shots that can change the game result to include whether it is a 2 or 3.

Yes in CT
Allowed here in CT only for state title games and only for last second shot.
It was used last year for the first time in the girls class LL title game.
