I can relate a story from my first year (last year).

I knew they didn't get to the 8 second count. Again, thanks for that.
It was just a scenario where the team was working towards that, the pressure in the back court was mounting... but then the...

NBA Sitch. 8 second count.

Houston @ GS Warriors the other night.

GSW hits a basket, but HOU is up by 1 with 18.5 seconds to go. Warriors pressure the HOU inbounds play in the back court, apparently looking hard for a...

Excel

Best thing about excel (if you're a dork) is lookup functions.

I put the mileage from my house to the various locations and have excel look up the distance, and calc the mileage deduction at 50.5...

One Whistle away from coronary.

Not from his approach... dude will live to 100 if left alone.

But, when you tee him up and the seatbelt goes on.... its over.

Traveling Question.

A little confused.

Player A1 jumps, grabs rebound, falls to floor. Traveling.
Player A1 jumps to catch a pass, falls to the floor. Traveling
Player A1 looking to pass the ball, falls to the...

The man.

When I introduced the "Mikan Drill" to my 5th grade boys team this year I told them it was named after the greatest player in NBA history. It became a running joke on the team as Mikan became a my...

Why is the lead/new trail so wide?

He moves up the sideline (far side of the court).
How can he see release and clock from there?
I guess he could see player and clock on green's basket.

Is it safe to assume he would have the...

Why think they guessed?

I didn't see any footage of the referees making the call.
Or, is the assumption that, because they were caucusing, that they did not have a definitive 'no shot' amongst'em?

Surely, with 1.7 on...

Green, up 2 with 1.7 seconds..

...misses FT,
Looks to me like the clock started properly when White player grabbed rebound.
He takes one dribbe to the side and launches a herculean try from 75 feet and it goes!
Refs confer and...

It was a press situation ball right about at the division line. I was lead he was trail, not sure exactly whether the ball had been stolen then made 'up for grabs'. It was a chaotic play. I could...

How to handle... two 'missiles' collide?

Loose ball at mid court...

Two players A1 and B1, from opposite directions, absolutely sell out and go for ball with everything they've got.
Tremendous mid-air collision. Both players rocked...

I'll fess up. I'm unsure about this...

... in terms of PCA. 2 man mechanics.

I am trail.
Ball is in corner in front of lead. I am closing down watching all action outside the lead's corner, predominantly in the key.

Player in...

If one is coaching and the officials are not getting your subs in without prompting, I think your stock as an official goes down.

If you are checking for subs, recognizing their presence, working...

Is this a fair assessment...

The scorekeeper gave erroneous information to the officials who relayed the information to the coach in an effort to use 'preventative officiating'.

At some point after that, the scorekeeper made...
