Haha, I see it now. It was the umpire's position throwing me off. I thought where the bat was laying was the on-deck circle. Makes much more sense now.

So once obstruction has occurred, and the obstructed runner is put out, it becomes a dead ball and all runners are sent to the base they would have reached had the obstructed runner...
