Information obtained via NHL.COM:

Flames coach Bob Hartley fined $25,000

Canucks coach John Tortorella suspended 15 days

Do these punishments seem fair?

Seems fair to me. Interesting that Tortorella was suspended days not games. I am assuming he cannot be with the team at all during these 15 days? Free vacation!

15 days, no contact with team & no pay.

Not sure about coaches, but when a player is suspended, his forfieted pay goes into the NHL's 'Emergency Assistance Fund'

Hartley's $25,000 fine is getting donated to the NHL Foundation.

Tortorella is going to be a couch potato until February 2, with no pay. So his pay just disappears (no mention of where the lost pay is going in the article). One would assume the lost pay would go towards the NHL Emergency Assistance Fund or other organization.
