There is pro-am football played every off-season that no one even knows is being played. This will likely be the same thing.

The part I'm interested in seeing is the ESPN broadcast rights. Does that mean they will broadcast it if it's successful, or are they actually going to broadcast games from the outset? Will these games appear on one of the over-the-air stations or ESPN3? The people he has involved have media backgrounds so they may be connected enough to make this happen. He'll at least have an opportunity to get some exposure. I have no problem with him doing this. I had a huge problem with him trying to exploit the high school rules to do this.

You have to get players too. ESPN is not going to give resources to a league that is no better than your local Pro-Am level where the players and several steps below Arena Football. And even a lot of Arena Football is not on TV. And I am not talking about the well known Arena League that the NFL once underwrote that league. I do not see the NFL touching this league.

If it's only to avoid eligible receiver numbering, heck, just go see almost any children's football game. We don't have eligible receiver numbering, and it works just fine. Then again, we have hardly any passing.
I do like the idea of "single-entity management", though, and I agree that spring is still where it's at in expanding for the audience. Last edited by Robert Goodman; Wed Feb 19, 2014 at 06:18pm. Reason: + stuff |

We have a legal A-11...its called 8/9 man football. (Okay so it would be A-8 or A-9 but whatever) Wear any number you want...
Even better...6-man football was invented 20 miles from my back door...that stuff is crazy! |

I want to know if the players will wear leather helmets.
