Pick Play NFHS
Can someone elaborate on passng pick plays. I understand the offense is restricted from the snap and they are not allowed to initate contact with the defense behond the NZ except to drive linemen beyond the line. But what about the play when receivers run a pick on defense. Reddings comment is that crossing patterns and stationary picks are smart maneuvering. So, if they run it like a basketball play when the offense is stationary it's a legal play?

One more point.
The offense knows where they are going. The defense does not know exactly where the offense is going. So do not allow the offense to throw a cheap block to free someone. Chances are the offense is doing this on purpose, especially in crossing routes. Then again this is why we get paid the big bucks.
Peace
