Timing question

Ok, I know this will be easy. But I just need a little back-up here.

K's ball 4th and 3 at their own 40. The punt is blocked behind the line and K picks it up. K40 advances to the 50 for a 1st down. When does the clock start for the next play?

On the snap. A new series was awarded after a legal kick.

Did the ball become dead inbounds or out of bounds?

If it was in bounds the clock starts on the ready for play, if it was out the clock starts on the snap

Not under NF rules. Always on the snap when a new series is awarded after a legal kick.
