Hi, just found this article, and thought I would share. Might be nice to see. James |

I'm skeptical their economic model can work. Sounds like a lot on the expense side and not a lot on the revenue side.
Good luck the first time a non-college-graduates sues saying he should be allowed to play in the league even though he didn't finish his degree requirements. And you won't be able to get seniors from the prior season as most of them won't graduate until May (if graduation is a requirement). But good luck. More gigs for officials, so that's good.

Personally, I don't care for any more leagues.
The CFL runs from June to November, NFL from September to February, and the Arena league after that. I also pick up the odd NFLe game. Even football should come in moderation.

I think they're on the right track with the league paying the salaries rather than the teams. The league doesn't have to worry about teams going belly up or defaulting on salaries.
But if each team has 30 players, and they have 8 teams, that's 24 million just in salaries for players. I don't think that's realistic, considering most of these guys would play for 25K a year. |
