We have talked about this a lot. I just thought this was the best place to post the information. Here is some idea of what the Big Ten will do with their Instant Replay system this season.

Big Ten Instant Replay

Wow, I had the general idea of how it was going to work, that's kind of more detailed. Very interesting. I will be interested in what plays the replay techs pass on.

3a? Runner ruled not down by defensive contact?

In Rut's link under FAQ's it has a questionable review. It states:

Q. What calls are subject to review under instant replay?
A. The following plays are subject to review under instant replay:
3. Other Detectable Infractions:
a. Runner ruled not down by defensive contact.

My best guess is this is a cut and paste issue. Or am I missing something?
Last time I checked the NCAA rules when a runner is down the play is over! Down by contact is not a factor...

I don't really have any idea why they included the words "defensive contact," but I assume that means they will review plays where the offensive player's knee may have touched the ground but the play continued.

Here is my question on the issue, and I hope someone could shed some light on the situation. In interconference games, replay can be used if the visiting (non-Big Ten) team agrees to it. Often time the road team "brings" the officials. Will those officials be "updated" on how replay works? Again, any information on the subject is appreciated.

The replay will only be used in non-conference game if the away team agrees to it. If they do not agree to it, they will not use it. Just that simple.

"I wish we still lived in a time when I could challenge you to a duel."--Senator Zen Miller (D) Georgia

His name is Zell Miller and this genius voted against the Civil Rights Act and vetoed the ban on Kevlar piercing bullets when he was governor. This wouldn't be someone I would quote on a bet.

I did not use the quote as a sign of admiration. I used the quote because I thought it was funny. I do not care what he voted for, I am not voting for anything that he supports anyway.

Are you opposed to getting his name right?

As I said, and you ignored, his name is Zell Miller!

The Civil Rights act was passed in 1964. The attached URL is Zell Millers biography. I don't see anything about him being in Congress in 1964.

According to his biography, although he ran for Congress unsuccessfully many times, he never got there until the year 2000. I don't recall any Civil Rights acts in the last four years.

At the end of the day.......

who cares?

I do not care if the man was a member of the Klan like Robert C. Byrd was from the State of West Virginia. I use the quote because it was funny. If you saw the man live last night on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews, you would have found it funny too. The man went nuts and challenged Matthews to a dual so to speak. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen from a politician.

So what if I messed up the man's name. People misspell my first name all the time.

Peace

According to CNN, he has been a legislator for over fifty years. They claimed he did it while Governor, thus the original wording of my post. He also voted against affirmative action while in that seat.
