Now, I'd pay to watch that crew work!

I'm humbled and thank you, however that crew is so good that if one of them went down, they could finish the game two man !!!!

You're correct, but wouldn't you want to be included in that rarified air of officialdom!

Booooo. I nominate potato for alternate. I could see him patrolling the sidelines and commandeering a coaches whiteboard to draw an illustration of why that play was traveling while throwing out phrases like "hot step", "butt bumping" and "intense D".
Love you potato, I mean no disrespect. |

As a prize, do I get your personally autographed copies of Scott Foster's & Al Battista's guides to officiating?

You never seen how good I can sit in a locker room by myself for 2.5 hrs. NBA alternates don't sit at the table unlike college officials....

Looks like their crew strategy paid off! Other than a couple individual games (Clips-Thunder game 5, Pacers-Heat game 5, Heat-Spurs game 2), this playoffs went off without much public controversy.
Based on Joey's game 4 assignment it looked as though he was set up to work a potential game 7, unlike last year where he "only" worked game 6. This makes me even more curious why it was chosen that way last year.....was it his history (albeit in 2007) with the Spurs? Was it a lackluster season or first couple rounds? Whatever it was, it seems to have been forgotten this year. Zarba did great in game 3 (as did Jason Phillips in his 2nd Finals game), hopefully Goble will get his shot next year. |

It wouldn't be, if it were any referee other than Joey. Until last year he had worked every Finals game 7 in the past 20 years so for him it is a step down to "only" work game 6. Excuse me for wondering why.

And your "wondering" assumes only negativity towards Joey C's performance, rather than excellence in someone else's.

So what? It could be due to either reason. I don't care, I'm just curious. Not sure why you have a problem with my curiosity.

I swear, I never understand why people post stuff on the internet and then get all in a funk when someone doesn't respond exactly like they want them to.
