It's Lonely In here...

I think the defender continues moving to his right and slides underneath the airborne shooter, disagree with the PC. I've also watched the replay about 15 times so I certianly can't fault the PC call that was made.

I too think he moved to the right a bit but I don't think it was a move that brought him underneath the shooter. I think he was in the path either way and the movement was irrelevant.

Doesn't matter anyway, contact occurred before A1 was airborne.

Here's a direct link to the play:

The embedded code was locking up some browsers it seems.

Agree with PC. Would have been nice if the official opposite table would have picked up on the rotation a bit sooner so that he potentially could of supported the play a bit more as C. Video makes it appear that Lead had been table side for a while.....

Would also like to see T stay engaged (close down a step or two) with the drive, mainly because the primary defender was involved. I would expect the L to hold for at least a secondary cadence on this play, especially considering the crash was high post.

Kind of looks like he did; the whistle wasn't immediate

I wish we had a different angle. I watched this over and over and I can see it both ways. Watching only the defender, he does slide to his right (and possibly into the shooter) after the shooter has left the ground. I think this video is too far away to be conclusive, and I don't think there is obvious right call here. In my opinion, the only really bad call would have been a no-call.
