There are probably some legitimate reasons to run up a score that we may not know about. In a local YMCA league, the teams were divided into two divisions based on a seeding tournament. One of the teams had a very good seeding tournament and was placed into the upper division. Some of the other coaches that had played his team suggested that he might want to voluntarily move down to the second division where he could be more competitive. After a couple of the teams were nice and only beat his team by around 20 points, he was given another opportunity to drop to the second division. After he refused to consider the possibility that his team was in a division over their heads, the second to last place team quit being nice and drilled his team by over 40 points. I still don't know if he got the message and agreed to switch divisions.

No - there aren't any in this league - other than trying to run up a higher score on the coach's jerk-o-meter.

Um, Mark, you do realize that you just answered a post from a thread that your resurrected from 19-freaking-99, don't you?

Did it take you that long to formulate an answer?

No wonder the guy quit posting after two posts; Padgett ignored him for 11 years.

I'm glad you said something, JR, because I thought there was a glitch somewhere in this thread.
