Well I used to feel that it was my responsibility to make sure the Jerk Coaches didn't run up the score, but after talking to a fellow official I have changed my stance.
She convinced me that this kind of stuff has a tendency to come back around.

Think of it this way.

A team is way behind being beatin soundly and they are trapping. You as an official change the way you are calling the game and in favor of the team that is behind then all of a sudden the losing team is back in the game.
Now we get down to the last 2 minutes and it's a 4 point game. At the end of the game the team that was getting shelacked comes from behind and wins. How much of what you did changed the outcome of the game? Probably alot. Now is that fair? No? It is our responsibility to ensure the game is played fairly not to ensure that one team is held to a higher standard. Sorry it just doesn't work for me. As the article says, "It's None of your Business" see and tell me if you don't agree. http://www.ereferee.com/index.cgi?ca...&file=blowouts
