League assessed a flagrant foul penalty one on the play.

You think they should have suspended him?

For the record, if I see that in a high school game, he's watching the rest of the game.

Players in high school games run into each other all the time. I love how HS guys all of a sudden are so strict but never seem to call what they need to in games we see. NBA takes more action against players than any other level.

Peace

Half the time they do it after the game, with the benefit of video review. Would love that option in high school.

We would never get that angle for most games. At least the NBA has the money to invest to review these things. But normally this would have likely been nothing if we saw this live.

Peace

I've switched my opinion on this play several times. Watching the game live, I thought it was a flagrant foul (NFHS intentional). Seeing the replay it looks as though Wade is doing a "swim move" to get around Stephenson. This makes me think the contact can be considered incidental. However, Wade could have run around him without jumping into the air, and without contacting Stephenson's head. So I am pretty back and forth on it. My current opinion is that I would call a NFHS intentional foul because this contact was unnecessary.

Actually the NBA ratings are quite high. The NBA gets better ratings in the playoffs than most MLB playoff games and even the World Series. The World Series this past year had worse ratings then the NBA Finals and the Pro Bowl (yes the Pro Bowl). I think the NBA is good. Actually all sports TV ratings have dropped but the NFL.

And I do not see any HS officials seeing this let alone ejecting someone because of it. Please HS officials do not get many of these plays when they are looking right at them directly or call intentional fouls when warranted and in front of God and country no matter who the player is that did the act.

Peace

OK, what is the excuse now big guy? LBJ fouls out in the closing seconds on a screen. He was called for a foul that was close on a verticality play (I would like to see that again BTW). Now what? It does not seem to fit your little theory.

Peace

Several times when a call has been questioned in an NCAA or NBA game you have responded with a reflection on the same call, or lack thereof, by high school officials.

I was wondering if you consider yourself a "high school guy."

I think there is a distinct difference in how those that only work HS ball call the game and the way those that call other levels call the game.

Sorry if that offends you, but I am not alone in that feeling.

I do not consider anyone that works a regular college or higher level schedule a "High school guy."

You seem to have developed condescension towards "HS officials" lately. What's with this new attitude?

While college officials can and usually are be better on aveage, there are certainly some HS-only officials that are up there with the best. They may have chosen to not pursue college due to work, family, or something else since college usually requires substantially more time/travel.
