And the NCAA tells their officials to penalize this stuff. So you are right it probably happens during the regular season, but the NCAA is hiring the officials in the tournament, not the conferences or tournament assignors that have little accountability to what the NCAA wants. I know John Adams has addressed this in bulletins over the years. That is why players and coaches have to know the rules and what could get them in trouble. And it is also likely they have not seen the particular officials that made this call during the year early in the tournament.
