Compression. sleeves

1. Used for medical reasons.
Do we need a physicians statement authorizing its use?

Different jurisdictions have different protocols. Check with you local organization. But generally, no.

Here, no. When we ask the coaches if their players are properly and legally equipped, their affirmative answer covers this.

As PG Ref notes, however, check local listings.

In Georgia we're instructed to ask coaches if their players are properly equipped and that's inclusive of doctor's notes for arm sleeves. We used to have to ask directly/separately (and yes, had to give them the old leading question "You've got a doctor's note for that arm sleeve, right coach?") but the general question has taken the place of that.

Definitely ask how they handle it in your neck of the woods though.

Which is exactly how we do things here in my little corner of the Provisions State.

I always say to the player, "I'm going to ask you a question and the answer is YES. Are you wearing that for medical reasons?"

When they inevitably say no, off with the sleeve. The rare kids who say yes are good to go.

Our direction was there's no need to ask, the assumption is that it's there for medical reasons. The 'legally equipped' question at the start covers it. No need to go fishing.

Here no. We are required to ask the coaches if everyone is legally dressed during the captains meetings. When they say yes, they are saying all " dress code" requirements have been met, ie, doctors notes, etc.

Just make them legal, the next player that is actually wearing one for medical reasons will be the first. All it is doing is encouraging people like doctors to be dishonest.

We are not required to ask, we assume they are for that purpose. But that does not stop officials for asking for some reason.

Peace
