Do any of you have some memorable shots during your career?
I have almost the opposite. My intramural mens team was 0-25 in our first 5 seasons ... and 0-4 in our 6th (and final) season. Last game of that year, we're facing another 0-4 whose scores against the other teams are as abysmal as ours, so we know this is our only chance.

There's no clock on the court in these games - they all start and end at the same time on every court - so we generally have a clock-keeper on the bench. We're down one with time winding down, other team with the ball. My clock guy yells 4 .... 3 .... 2 .... and the other team heaves one up from half court. I get the rebound. Clock guys says, "Mike - 12 seconds!!!" 2 passes later, our only decent shooter puts up an ugly shot that manages to go in for our only victory every.

Must have went to Purdue. They always seem to have players that stay there forever.

I hear that 6th year hardship waiver process can be tricky!

I once pick pocketed the ball from a player in a college intramural game, and took it in for a contested layup. Many people cheered and my friend says to me at half time, "Do you know who that was?" I didn't, so I said "their point guard?". I was informed that said player is an all-Canadian college point guard.

I'm pretty sure that we still lost.

Exclamation

When I was a teenager back in the 19th century, I was out in the street in front of my house with a basketball. My sister came out of the house and I threw the ball at her. It hit her head and then flew up and into the basket on the front of my neighbor's garage!

I asked her if we could try it a few more times but she said "nah".

So, what you're saying is, Dr. Naismith stole the game from you?

Yes. And someday, I'll relate a conversation I once had with Abner Doubleday.
