In Addition To Proper Positioning ...
Mechanics is also about communication. If an official is not using proper signals, then the players, coaches, scorers, timekeepers, and fans, will have no idea what has been called. If that's the case, then everybody's in for a very long day, and I'm willing to guarantee that there will be plenty of opportunities to serve some "tea", if you know what I mean, and I'm sure that you do.
