IMO, the two hand mechanic should only be used for 00, 11, 22, 33, 44, and 55. I think it would avoid any confusion with the scorer's table.

"Wait, was that 1, or 11? I couldn't hear what he said."

Just hold up two hands, with the same digit on either hand.

EDIT: I personally don't use the two hand reporting mechanic, and from what I understand, it's frowned upon in my area. If the mechanic did become acceptable, though, that's how I would employ it.
