When I was in graduate school back in the early 90s, I did 12 games back-to-back on a Saturday for the princely sum of $10/game.

In the 12th game, a kid landed on his head awkwardly on a drive and we had to wait for an ambulance to come and take him away. When we started up again, I had a hard time moving. And getting out of the car when I got home was a challenge.

At a camp a few years ago, I worked 26 halves of basketball in 2.5 days. That was a good test of my conditioning.

Been there, done that.......

When I anticipate this, I take my truck so I can get down easier out of it..... as opposed to getting up out of my car.

What school was this? I was getting $6/game in college and that was the early to mid-2000's.

University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Youth games from 3rd through 8th grade -- they'd play 6 games girls and six games boys alternating until the last games of the day were the 8th grade games. I'd rather have started with the older kids, but nobody asked me.

Youth football back then paid $20/hour or a fraction of an hour. We'd work 43 games and walk out with $120 to $140 dollars. Football was (and probably still is) king.

My minimum "leave the house" check these days is probably about $20 to $25. I wouldn't work for $10.
