False Double?
The other thread about Simultaneous or False Double got me thinking...what if we had a situation like this...
A1 drives to the basket. As he goes up for a shot, he's fouled on the arm by B1. Meanwhile, as A1 continues his shooting motion, and the ball goes in the basket, B2 has established position, before A1 jumped, to take a charge. Possible to have a false double here? On a shot attempt, the ball isn't dead until the attempt is complete, no? So you wouldn't have dead ball contact to ignore (the charge). One FT, lane cleared, then B gets the ball, designated spot closest to foul? |

Oh yes you can!
Also, if you ruled the fouls as simultaneous instead of a false double foul, the basket counts.

Points can be awarded if B1 goaltends/commits BI, after which airborne shooter A1 crashes into a legal defender.

I agree with you that baskets can be "awarded". The original post I was referring to said "scored". So I was wondering if he was referring to NCAA
