Someone I know pretty well once called a violation when the throw-in hit the rim. The coach agreed it was a violation. Then, after I, I mean the official, looked it up after the game, the official told the coach the correct ruling and they both learned something that day.

7) Move... but keep one foot over spot
Move, left or right, and keep one foot on or over the 3-foot wide throw-in spot until the ball is released; move backwards as far as he/she may wish.
