You bring up a likely misnomer in the rules. Is it correct that, whereas we call it a "designated spot throwin" (4-42-6 and NOTE), that spot is actually an "area" that is three feet wide? Casebook 9.1.2A seems to be saying the same thing while using the words "spot" and "area" interchangeably.

So, shucks, a player with long legs can actually have about nine feet to stay totally within and still be legal. That's quite a "spot"!

Is that correct?
