NBA Socks in NCAA

Had the referee in my game last night make the players wearing NBA socks remove them.

I was wondering if that was correct/incorrect and what the rule reference is?

Thanks

There are no rules concerning socks. They can wear any socks they want as long as they are safe. So no spikes.

I need to read closer...didn't recognize you'd asked for NCAA...

The other issue is that one "manufacturers logo" is allowed. Some interpret this as Nike and Addidas are manufacturers and the NBA is not.

I concur on this. The NBA is not a Manufaturers logo. I would just make them role them down.

If it matters that they're not a manufacturer's logo, why make them roll the socks down? If they're not illegal, there would be no need.

One logo per sock. So, if the logo wason the inside and the outside of the leg, it needs to be covered.

I love this rule. All local, small college womens officials have players with two logo socks roll them down to play, local mens officials don't even know it's a rule.

Why in the world would you like this silly rule?

Why do you love this rule? Does it change the fundamentals of the basketball game?

The reason we enforce it is because we are told to by assignors. I like doing post season games, so I do what I am told.

At the risk of ushering in another call for different font colors and/or "/sarcasm" comments, I think BL was being sarcastic.

Apologies, I was being sarcastic. It's the only rule I've ever felt embarassed about enforcing.

That's fine, but the same officials enforcing it on the womens side work for the same commish as the mens officials not enforcing this rule. Is this only an NCAA-W rule? I didn't' think it was, but if so, it's even more ridiculous.

NCAA 3-8-4 is a "Women only" rule, but that refers to memorial or commemorative patches. 3-8-1 says that one logo can be on every item of apparel except the undershirt. To me, that means one logo per sock, not per leg. And there's nothing in the casebook under Rule 3 that I can see.
