What's good for the goose, I guess. But really, "southern looking?"

Nokomis remains the Warriors, and I haven't heard a ton of pressure to change that. (Just as well. Leave 'em alone.) Scarborough changed from the Redskins to the Red Storm. Wiscasset is also supposed to change from the Redskins, but I don't think that's been finalized yet.

A rebel Colonel apparently. Some people just don't have enough to do.

(2) You put the timeout time on the scoreboard and the time left in the period disappears. Coaches, players, fans, AND officials like having that time up.

I've never heard of a worse idea than putting the timeout countdown on the scoreboard.
That's what I am meaning is to have the countdown only show on the control panel. On the scoreboard system here that has it, there's a button labeled Time out in/out. If in a TO with the timer counting down, just press that button and the timer gets cancelled. On the Daktronics All-Sport 5000 Scoreboard controller, that TO In/Out button is present on the basketball controls insert.

One woeful prospect looms large -- shift picks for our department at work determine our work schedule for the new year. I'm low on the totem pole here so the likelihood of having to work the second half of the week instead of the first half of the week is running about 25%. With a good V officiating schedule set on nights when I don't have to work late the days I work (get out at 6:30) now, if I get shifted to the other shift I'll have to bail on the entire year. Hope it doesn't come to that.

Major update for which to give thanks to God:
Shift schedules for our department for next year were posted yesterday and I won't be getting bumped off my shift, which was the basis for all assignments given to me for this season.
Whereas my entire schedule was in danger of being completely turned back, I'm in the clear now.
Whew! Dodged a bullet on that one. All smiles today as I consume vast quantities of what was Ben Franklin's choice for the national bird.
Packers by 5.

Yes, officiating is part of our life

I'm happy for you, Freddy! When you get your games, go make us all proud.

First HS games changed

Thanks to the football team being in the state championships, the first games of the HS Season for me will be on Monday, December 12.
