Good call on the intentional foul as well. THings are getting a little rough and Anthony is getting a little mouthy.
"That should NOT have been an intentional foul b/c he was going for the ball!"

Tony, you beat me to the offensive BI comment

Yeah, then he grabs his arms and pulls him to the ground. Gimme a break, Billy.

Kansas cuts it to 4! "Better get a TO baby!!"

I can't believe what he said after the PC - a great call - but this took the cake. And we wonder why rough play is a poe year after year after year...it's because of boneheads like Packer who say things like "but he was going for the baaaallll..whine whine whimper whimper". BTW, this was signalled intentional immediately but the 2 dopes who own the microphone had no idea what was happening when the lane was cleared for FTs "Hey Billy, did they change the call to flagrant?"

My Gawd.

Yep. They didn't have a clue until they cleared the lane.

I'm wondering if Syracuse has survived the run.

"If that ball had gone in Jim, it would have been goaltending."

What an idiot!!!

3 try bounces high and Graves attempts to tap it in, and it did look like it could have been BI. But BillyBob announces that if it had gone in it would have been GT!

Sad day.

This one topped them all for me. It was a real "I can't believe he said that." Almost like listening to some of the local radio people around here trying to call a high school game.

I couldn't even get on line for the last half-hour -- ISP busy signal!!

I gotta admit Packer really outdid himself tonight, but you all missed my two favorites tonight which were both comments on the play, not the officials.

Around two minutes left in the first half, "These [Kansas] players don't understand, but they should be going for the steal. They don't realize their position."

Around two minutes left in the second half, "I don't know why they [Syracuse] aren't getting the ball into McNamara's hands. They don't realize what they need to do." Although McNamara hadn't hit anything at all in the second half. Nothing. But his hands....

but I think this comment was because McNamara was the best FT shooter in the Big East. I think he averages over 95% on the line and Packard's point was that if he had the ball, he would be almost automatic. And the fact that Carmelo Anthoney was also hurting and bringing up the ball. And Anthoney did miss a FT which gave Kansas a chance to tie at the end of the game. McNamara might have made both FTs and sealed the game earlier. But it was like Packard was saying this like Coach Biehiam (sp?) did not coach them to do it that way. They came out of a timeout and had that stradegy.

Peace

I totally disagree with Packer here. Kansas is not a deep team and it is still the first half. Why give an unnecessary foul that could hurt one of your key players later? So what that it is not 1-and-1 now. That personal foul on a key player could really be a problem later. Packer didn't even consider this.
