Violation?

Spot throw-in, NFHS rules. The official hands the ball to the inbounder, but then realizes he's not supposed to be the inbounder and hands the ball to a teammate who throws it in. This is a violation isn't it? You can only do that after a made basket, correct? Thanks! Coach Bill

Huh?? If I read this correctly, the official gives the ball to the wrong team for throw-in. This can be corrected as of this year. Blow it dead and give the ball to the correct team.

Nope.

A1 is out of bounds and is the designated thrower for a designated spot throw-in. The official hands the ball to A1. A1 realizing he wasn't supposed to be the thrower hands the ball to A2 who then completes the the throw-in.

Throw-in violation

yes, gamer, A1 handed it to A2. The coach wanted his teammate to throw it in.

Throw-in violation
It was a violation the moment A2 stepped out of bounds.

Or possibly sooner if he hands it to A2 before he steps OOB.
