Violation?
Spot throw-in, NFHS rules. The official hands the ball to the inbounder, but then realizes he's not supposed to be the inbounder and hands the ball to a teammate who throws it in. This is a violation isn't it? You can only do that after a made basket, correct? Thanks! Coach Bill

Throw-in violation

A1 is out of bounds and is the designated thrower for a designated spot throw-in. The official hands the ball to A1. A1 realizing he wasn't supposed to be the thrower hands the ball to A2 who then completes the the throw-in. Throw-in violation

It was a violation the moment A2 stepped out of bounds.
