1st postponement this year

A JVB/BV DH with a GV game in between so I could get stiffened up was called off tonight. Tornado watches. In their place I was given a VB game with 2 5A schools tomorrow and a GV game Thursday that is a 29 mile round trip.

Angry

Same here. Had a good G-V game between best two teams in area cancelled due to tornadoes & funnel clouds in area. Stupid Florida weather . Doubleheader tomorrow night though. Now that I think about it...first time in ten years I've had a HS game cancelled due to weather.

You guys are fortunate......

I've lost four already this season and am prepared to lose a few more as the latest "storm of the century" heads towards the east coast!

Just before leaving my house tonight to go watch a girls basketball game at the school where I coach volleyball, there was a little power blip. Didn't think anything about it until I got halfway to the school and all of the traffic lights were out and most of the businesses and houses were dark. I got to the school about 15 minutes before scheduled start time and all of the cars were leaving the parking lot.

The A.D. said it was the first time in his career that he had to cancel a game due to a power outage.

I had lost two before last week because of schools canceling school due to snow. I was canceled last Thursday but picked up games on Saturday, and was canceled on Friday but got switched to another location that night too.

We'll see. Our assigner says we're entitled, and notified the A.D. Perhaps I should call that school before every game there.

Do you guys not confirm games anyway? We have to confirm games via phone or email 24-48 hours in advance with an AD or coach.

Here, the responsibility lies with the A.D. to contact officials and/or the assignor for postponements or cancellations. We're on until we're told otherwise.

2 More Gone......

Up to six games lost this season already due to weather......we're getting pounded by mother nature at the moment.

And this is the year we've had virtually no weather that interferes with school.
