When you (not you personally) suggest that someone is getting a game and politics are involved, it must be noted that I seriously doubt the "average" official is being considered to work this tournament. And whether it is a good gauge or not, someone working college is likely has beat out others to work that level on some level and have seen a certain level of basketball that the average official has not seen. And whether we like IAABO or not, they are a multi-level organization that involves HS and college officials that participate in that organization. If I have the opportunity to pick guys that work Prep Schools, I will probably want the guy that are not your average, run of the mill official. And most college officials are not considered by assignors as "average." I am sure the assignor of this organization wants to put their best foot forward as much as possible.
