Fox 40 - Classic & CMG. I wish....

Sitting here thinking of upcoming seasons. I just moved to a new area about a month ago and have contacted many local ADs and am hoping to hear something from some of them soon. I've already taken and passed my part one tests again in volleyball and soccer and am waiting for the rules meetings and a VB clinic in a few weeks. Since almost no one posts very much on those sites I came to B'ball. Was thinking abour TJ1's thread about new gear and realized that I wish some 'new stuff' was more like the "older stuff." For instance, I wish the new CMG classics were the same size as the old CMGs. The new ones feel like a 2x4. I also wish that all shoes were as comfortable as the Air Monarchs. Any wishes that y'all have...? (And don't be stupid or dirty please!)

I think we discussed this before when we were in Red Hill. I agree, if they were smaller like the older CMGs, I'd probably be using them. However, they are too big for me. Therefore, if I want to use a CMG type of whistle, I just put a pipe bit on a regular classic -- works great! I believe Chuck uses (hockey?) tape, but it all works out to the same thing in the end.

I wish there were at least two different whistle tones so that sites with multiple simultaneous games would not be so confusing - especially three-man crews.

When officiating volleyball, remember to call it both ways.

They do. The Fox Pearl is only a two-chambered whistle.

We ALL wish Billy Packer would retire.

But since this is about equipment, I wish I could get another pair of Converse Whistle shoes.

I agree on the Converse Whistle Shoes... I still have my original pair and only wear them once in a while in fear I may wear them out. They are quite comfortable.

I've been accused on this site of making assumptions about and/or reading too much into what people are saying, so instead of doing those things, I'll just ask...What do you mean?

Sneakers. I have that movie. Good flick. Fort Red Border, and a few others.

It was the conversation between River Phoenix (or was it the blind man?) and James Earl Jones at the end of Sneakers, after Robert Redford et. al. had busted the whole unbreakable codes thing.

when the Rev asked what we wished for, I was reminded of this exchange in the movie as Juggling Referee detailed. It was the blind guy, whose name I can't for a moment... ah! it just hit me..... Whistler. it was whistler who kept saying he was going to use his share of the reward money to get peace on earth.

I can see why, given the current situation in the Middle East, you might have thought I was being politically aggressive. I've been known to do that, but I wasn't, in this case. Just quoting a cute movie exchange.

I never saw the movie...I'll order it on NetFlix. Thanks for explaining.

Juulie, I think I might use your prayer Sunday morning. Then again, maybe not!
