Neither of which is the standard in Des Moines, where the Catholic schools are part of the IHSAA and compete against public schools and other private schools based on enrollment numbers.

I'm still trying to get the lay of the land in this regard here in CO, where private schools seem to operate in their own little world.

The public high school coaches here in Connecticut would absolutely love that. Catholic high schools draw kids from many surrounding towns, while public high schools just draw kids from their own town, or worse, from just their own part of town.
