You know you were at a CYO 6th grade girls game when both teams, in the course of 24 minutes of game play:
- combine for 88 missed shots.
- combine for 82 turnovers
- combine for 37 held balls
- somehow manage to find time to score 24 points (13-11).
(Yes, this happened at one of my games today)
I also wonder if I missed a full moon overnight. In two of three games this weekend (yesterday's 8th girls and today's 8th boys), the home coach took the official scorebook in the locker room at half time.
At yesterday's game, the officials simply designated me official score for the remainder of the game. Todays officials told me I was taking things too seriously
In what's supposed to be an instructional league, I guess it would be a bit too much to instruct the home team that the book has to stay at the table -- at the very least.
