Free throws
Cannot find this instance in the rule book. After ball is given to free throw shooter, he then takes several steps back and his feet are now outside the semi-circle. Is this a violation? I called it a violation.

Because He's Larry Bird, That's Why ...
Part of Larry Bird's free throw routine was to wait outside the semicircle for the pass from the official. He would then take a few steps forward and take his free throw. I guess it's not a violation if you're Larry Bird.

Noting that the painted arc that defines the 6' radius semi-circle is still in the semi-circle (the inside of the painted arc will be 5'10" from the center of the semi-circle).
