Tony will bring it!
P90X is real! I love the workouts. The best part is they show you variations on every excercise incase you have a hurt shoulder or knee, etc.
My wife and I were working this program while we were expecting we finally had to stop during month #2 which was 2 weeks before the baby arrived. She's a trooper! I could see positive changes in 7 days. Negs: 1hr+ workouts each day (might not be a problem if you think about driving to gym + workout time + shower time) The Yoga takes 1.5 hours. Pros: Little equipment needed to start (pull up bar + resistance bands or free weights) Results fast. A program that works. My wife and I both absolutely love this workout. Tony mixes it up and keeps things fresh. You will not be dissapointed. PS: We started with Power 90. Same guy, same company. I call it P90X's little sister. There are only two workouts that you alternate each week and they last 30 min each. |

P90x is very good. Also Insanity with Shaun T is very good. It is a different type of workout than P90x but I would recommend it over P90x. A lot of the workouts are similar to P90x plyometrics but they are much harder, the moves themselves are much harder with no time in between exercises (most of the workout do have breaks every so often.) Insanity really is the most difficult workout program out there.

As one with bad knees, I found that wii FIT and wii ACTIVE are really good. Maybe I am past my "macho" phase so anything that sounds like a secret military program (P90X) or named "Insanity" I ry to stear away from, even though I am sure they work! I just started wii ACTIVE this year and was REALLY suprised by the work out I got. The only thing I DON'T like is the amount of lunges you do. It really helps the knee, but I have ALWAYS hated lunges!
Also, nothing can beat aquatic workouts if you have bad knees. The problem is getting to a pool!! Fortunately for me, the PT office I go to has a therapy pool so I get to spend quality time with all the old lady's! |

Snaq, if you are looking for a workout that lessens the load on your knees i do not suggest Insanity. It is high-interval training with a high impact on the knees. It definitely will not help your knee problems Maybe do different calisthenic exercises that don't hurt the knees

He will have to use his foot to help with the rehab, though.

The classic 12oz curls.
Snaqs, the Wii Fit is not bad and has gotten cheaper I think. I've heard many good things about EA Active also.

Plus you can get netflix through the wii which will allow you to do JR's recommended rehab.

The proverbial win win if I've ever heard of one. As an aside, the Wii fit board makes a great decoration when you've given up working out and decide to just play Mario Kart. Not that I know anything about that...

There's also now the Playstation Move or Kinect for the XBOX 360. Both have software that gets your blood pumping.

I wasn't meaning go out & buy either one if you didn't already have one.
It's nice to see home video game systems now where a person has to move something other than their thumbs to play the game.
