Both, but mostly because of IAABO. My two interpreters, over the past thirty years, both IAABO trained, have done outstanding jobs teaching me. Our board officers, and assigners, over the years, "bleed IAABO blood", and hold us to the highest standards, and a past IAABO executive director was a member of our local board many years ago. Could this happen without the umbrella organization, IAABO? Probably, but I wouldn't bet my house on it. The number one goal of IAABO is education, and that's what it takes, among other things, to be a great official.
