My whole point was to say that your suspicion of the quality of basketball in the area based on this anomaly is poor is unfounded (really bad sentence structure but it is late and I don't have the energy to fix it)

I know Houston has good basketball. But they are putting a 100 consistently on many teams. Or blowing them out by over 100 points. It just makes me wonder that is all. It does not mean much of anything, I just find it odd.
