Travel?
Guys and Gals,
I don't have my rule book, but I have my case book with me and I can't seem to find the play. If an offensive player has the ball and dribbles between a double team (2 defenders less that 3 feet apart), is that a travel? Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks... |

I interpret that as "unless the defense does something else, it's not a foul on the defense if contact puts the dribbler at a disadvantage." In any event, it's not a travel. Last edited by bob jenkins; Fri Feb 19, 2010 at 12:56pm. |

Actually there is no violation. It merely says that if there is less than three feet and there is contact, the offensive player has greater responsibility
4-7-2c There must be reasonable space between two defensive players or a defensive player and a boundary line to allow the dribbler to continue in his/her path. If there is less than 3 feet of space, the dribbler has the greater responsibility for the contact. woo-hoo- post #100! Last edited by rsl; Fri Feb 19, 2010 at 02:31pm. |
