Question What would you do - part whatever

Rec game today - NF rules. Partner tosses ball to start game. A1 taps it. B1 does not. Ball hits floor and is grabbed by A1. Partner blows whistle and indicates violation. Would you do anything?

I would tell him quietly that the ball hit the floor first so it isn't a violation.

The rest is up to him.

Go to him & let him know. By rule, A's ball & B's arrow. How u deal with your partner depends on their personnality & the level of experience of each official.

Absolutely could not do that to him. Partner was female.

Whisper sweet nothings in her ear.

"Nothing. Call nothing."

I'm sure you could pull it off.

Probably not appropriate to do that to her.

Talk to my partner and ask him if he wants to amend to an IW. If she does not, live with the call and move on.

I made this call as U early in the year, but I didn't need anyone to come to me. I went IW, gave the ball to A, instructed the table to give the arrow to B, and answered B's coach's question by saying it was legal once it hit the floor.
